You’ve heard of NaNoWriMo? National Novel Writing Month? If not, you’ll have to wait a year because it’s in November.
But here at IUSB it’s winter break, which is when we get to do all that writing we meant to do all semester. In that spirit, I’ll post some occasional writing exercises, usually stolen, for you to do–or not do. We’ll call it IUSB Wri Mo.
Post your work. Post your laments. Post your support for one another.
The first one comes from Aimee Bender’s web site: http://www.flammableskirt.com/exercises.html
Close your eyes and write about a room with a curious smell.
Could you throw out a poem exercise or two while you’re at it? I can’t get enought of ’em.
What makes you think this isn’t a poetry exercise? 🙂
(and yes, yes, I’ve already got a couple on reserve…)
