Last night several of us from IU South Bend attended Brian Evenson’s reading at Notre Dame. Thanks to those who showed up: Charmi Keranen, Ryan Smith, Talia Reed, Deric Poorman (and Brie-sp?), Jennifer Reinhoel, Naoko Fujimoto, and me (Kelcey).
Evenson read from his novel, The Open Curtain, and from his story collection, The Wavering Knife. He answered questions about his break with Mormonism and about writing in general. He supplied Deric with answers about his story “Two Brothers” for Deric’s exam tomorrow. 🙂 Afterward, a few of us went to a reception at Steve Tomasula’s (amazing) home and hobnobbed with the local literati.
